The INAF Brera Astronomical Observatory is organizing a series of monthly meetings for 2026 on issues of gender, disability, identity, aesthetic pressure, and neurodivergence, entitled “Shades of Red for the Coexistence of Differences.“
Title for the fifth conference 2026: “Looking Beyond Limits: When Diversity Becomes a Resource for Knowledge“
Speaker: Eva Trevisan (AIBXC), Giorgio Napoli (AIBXC Vice President and player/president of Bologna), Giuseppe Allegretta (President and player of Lampi Milano).
Date and Location: October 27, 2026 – 11:00 PM – Sala Belloni – At our headquarters in Merate – Via E. Bianchi 46.
Abstract: Born in Bologna in the 1990s, Baseball for the Blind demonstrates that when we change the rules of the game, we can also change the way we look at the world. Through this experience, we will discover how diversity is not an obstacle to be overcome, but a resource capable of challenging our prejudices, pushing the boundaries of possibility, and revealing abilities we often don’t even know we possess. Because pushing boundaries doesn’t mean seeing everyone the same way, but learning to recognize possibilities we couldn’t previously imagine.
We encourage in-person attendance of the even to foster dialogue and exchange of ideas. However, it will be possible to follow online at the following link: https://meet.google.com/scd-qqtb-iak
The event will be in Italian; those who will be attending online will be able to set up Google Meet so that english subtitles are automatically generated.
