The Solar System’s Breath in X-rays – Led by Max Planck, the study published in Science – Media Inaf

2026/04/16 – X-ray emission produced in the Solar System by a phenomenon known as solar wind charge exchange has been isolated for the first time. This was made possible by the privileged location of the eROSITA space telescope, which produced the clearest map yet of the sky in “soft” X-rays. Among the authors of the study is our astrophysicist Gabriele Ponti.
