The radio ghost of a gamma-ray burst – An alternative scenario involves intermediate black holes – Media Inaf

04/03/2026 – Using the Australian SKA Pathfinder, an international team of scientists has detected what appears to be the afterglow of a gamma-ray burst, a cosmic explosion whose jets were not directed toward Earth and therefore escaped high-energy observations. The study, involving two of our researchers (Giancarlo Ghirlanda and Om Sharan Salafia), will be published in The Astrophysical Journal.
