Markarian observation – First milestone for ASTRI

Passata è la tempesta… Ogni cor si rallegra… L’artigiano a mirar l’umido cielo… Ecco il sol che ritorna…   O natura cortese,  son questi i doni tuoi…

ASTRI-1, the first telescope installed in the ASTRI Mini-Array, has demonstrated not only its readiness for very high-energy sky observations but also its efficiency, as expected. The observations of the famous blazar Markarian 421 detected the source at a very high flux, more than double that of the Crab Nebula, the reference unit in this energy range.
