September 09, 2026 – Thanks to observations conducted with MeerKat, it was possible to record plasma jets emanating from a stellar black hole with velocities close to those observed in jets produced by active galactic nuclei. Francesco Carotenuto (INAF): “The advantage of these sources is that we can directly follow the evolution of the jets on human timescales, from their launch to their propagation into space.” Our researcher Sara Motta co-authored the article with Francesco Carotenuto (INAF Rome).
